Make What You Do Count

Your effort deserves recognition.

Every step you take towards your future matters. Whether you're developing new skills, getting practical experience, exploring career options or preparing for applications, Launchpad helps you build a record of the work you're putting into your next steps.

Earn 50 points through career-focused activity and you'll automatically receive your King's career readiness recognition.

Earn recognition for your career development

Launchpad recognises the time and effort you invest in preparing for your future.

For final-year students

Reach 50 points and you can receive additional recognition on your Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR), providing a formal record of your career development alongside your academic achievements.

For recent graduates

Reach 50 points and you can receive a King's Career Ready digital badge, recognising the effort you've invested in developing your skills, experience and career readiness.

How it works

1. Choose opportunities that interest you

Everything in Launchpad earns points. You can choose from practical workshops, independent learning, careers events, coaching, employer challenges and longer projects.

2. Build your points

Each activity has a points value. More intensive, extended or applied experiences count for more, recognising the additional commitment and experience they involve.

There's no single route to 50 points. You can combine different opportunities, or concentrate on activities that are particularly relevant to your plans.

3. Reach 50 points and get recognised

Once you've earned 50 points, you'll automatically receive the recognition available to you.

You can keep taking part in Launchpad activities after reaching the threshold.

Find your own route to 50 points

Start flexibly

Build points through short, self-directed activities such as exploring careers, checking your skills and completing online learning.

Get involved

Earn more through practical workshops, coaching sessions, careers events and activities where you work with others.

Go deeper

Take on more substantial experiences, including employer challenges, sustained projects and other applied opportunities that give you something meaningful to show for your work.

Claim points for activity beyond Launchpad

Your career development doesn't have to happen through a Launchpad opportunity.

Perhaps you're volunteering, developing skills independently, undertaking work experience, leading a student initiative or working on a project outside your studies.

You may be able to earn points for eligible career-focused activity you've organised or completed yourself.

Simply tell us what you've done using our online form so it can be considered for recognition.
