Welcome to Creative Edge, a self-study pack designed to introduce the creative skills which can help you get ahead in a rapidly changing work environment. From generating ideas to interrogating assumptions and fine-tuning communication, creative skills are not just for those in the cultural sector. Industry professionals across sectors are increasingly recognising that creative skills belong at the heart of every career, a realisation accelerated by the rise of AI. Structured around 4 c’s of creativity; collaboration, communication, critical thinking and creativity itself, you will hear from thought leaders at King’s and the creative sector, who share their insights on the skills and competencies which underpin their working lives.
Each of the four topics contains five elements, called ‘sprints'; a set of three videos exploring key skills and competencies, a creative activity, and a reflective task which asks you to apply your learning to a project of your own. In addition, following the set of three videos, you will be invited to write down your thoughts on the key competencies and their relevance to you. Questions which relate to the key competencies are clearly marked, to help you identify them.
