It’s never too early, or too late, to start thinking about your future.
Time moves quickly on a master's programmes and, before you know it, dissertation season will be here. This event is an opportunity to pause and consider what comes next. Whether you’re thinking about PhD, a second master’s degree, or moving into industry, join us for an evening designed to help you explore your options, gain practical careers insight, and make valuable connections.
What to expect
Ikigai career reflection activity: Take part in a short, practical exercise to reflect on the types of problems you enjoy solving, the skills and strengths you are developing, where those capabilities could create value, and the career or research pathways that may align with your interests. You’ll leave with a clearer sense of possible directions to explore and questions to discuss with employers and speakers throughout the evening.
Making the most of Gradcracker: Gradcracker is the UK's careers website for STEM students, connecting graduates with employers offering placements, graduate schemes and other opportunities. Hear from the Gradcracker team about how to make the most of the platform and strengthen your careers search strategy.
NMES Alumni Panel - Hear from former PGT students who were in your position not long ago and have since progressed to PhDs, further study or exciting roles across a range of organisations. Further details about panel members will be announced soon.
Networking & connections - After the talks, stay for refreshments and informal networking with alumni, speakers and fellow students. It’s a change to ask questions, exchange ideas, build your network and continue conversations from the evening.
