Faculty of Arts & Humanities

You’re invited to an Arts & Humanities Dialogue event where we will be asking the question: How should assessment develop students’ skills?

We are looking for students from the following Departments:

- Classics,

- Languages, Literatures and Cultures,

- History,

- Philosophy.

Lunch will be provided for this session!

The purpose of this Dialogue session is to create a space where different perspectives can be voiced. This Dialogue session will bring together students and staff from across Arts & Humanities to discuss the crucial topic of how assessment can help to develop students’ skills as part of your learning.

We recognise that learning and practising new skills is a fundamental part of education, yet it can be unclear to both students and staff exactly what skills students should be developing, and how you should demonstrate them in the context of assessment. Transforming assessment is a key priority at King's as this is a key opportunity for us to gather student feedback and insights to help shape the future of assessment.

Your participation is crucial - the more voices contributing to the Dialogue, the richer and more effective our shared understanding will be. Positive change can’t happen without you!

You don’t need to prepare anything to engage in the session. Instead, you need to be willing to:

- Explore your own views, assumptions and expectations

- Listen actively and respectfully to others in the room

- Be curious about different experiences and think about how they intersect with your own experiences and ideas

Book your place by now - spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis!
