University is not only a place to study - it is also a community where your ideas, experiences and interests can shape what happens around you.
This interactive session will introduce you to community organising: a practical approach to bringing people together, building shared understanding and taking action on the issues that matter to them.
You will learn through examples of historic campaigns and movements, exploring how people have built support, created momentum and turned shared concerns into meaningful change. You will then work alongside Citizens UK, a KCLSU student society and other new students to apply some of those ideas to a practical challenge.
The session is designed to be active and collaborative. You will exchange perspectives, develop ideas with others and experience how collective action can move from conversation to action.
