What does it really take to build a food system that is both sustainable and just? 🌾

Join us for our final Sustainability Seminar of the academic year, exploring how global agricultural systems can become more sustainable, equitable, and resilient.

From the food we eat to the systems that produce it, agriculture sits at the heart of the climate crisis, but also holds powerful potential for change. This session will bring together perspectives from policy, research, and grassroots practice to examine both the challenges and the solutions shaping the future of food systems.

We’ll explore questions such as:

How do pesticides impact human health, ecosystems, and global inequalities?

What role do global supply chains and corporate power play in shaping agriculture?

How can community-led and gender-informed approaches transform farming practices?

What pathways exist for policy change, advocacy, and more sustainable food systems?

🎙 Speakers include:

Rajan Bhopal - Pesticide Action Network UK

Speaking on pesticide impacts, global supply chains, and international campaigning efforts

Amanda Lenhardt - King’s College London

Lecturer in development policy, bringing insights from global research across Africa and Asia

Allie Stankewich - Thriving Youth Farmers Uganda

Sharing on-the-ground perspectives from youth-led sustainable agriculture initiatives

This seminar is part of the King’s Sustainability Seminar Series, which brings together diverse voices to explore pathways toward a more sustainable and equitable future.

Whether you're interested in climate change, food systems, development, or social justice, this session offers a space to reflect, learn, and engage with one of the most pressing challenges of our time.
