This interactive workshop introduces participants to key ethical, environmental, and practical considerations surrounding the use of generative AI, alongside a hands-on introduction to prompt engineering. Through short activities and discussion, participants will explore topics including sustainability, bias, and responsible AI use while experimenting with a range of popular AI tools. The session encourages a more thoughtful and critical approach to engaging with generative AI technologies.
Suitable for beginners and non-technical audiences. No prior knowledge or technical experience is required.
LC is a Learning & Teaching Librarian within Libraries & Collections at King’s College London. As part of the team that designs and delivers academic skills workshops, LC supports students and staff in developing confidence with information literacy, including academic database searching and critical use of digital tools. LC is also involved in developing LIB270: Critical Use of Generative AI, a workshop focused on helping participants engage with GenAI in a confident, informed, and critically aware way.
