This Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) course offers a practical introduction to the development, regulation, and global approval of generic medicines. Developed by BRAC University, Bangladesh, the course brings together academic and industry expertise and is open to students from pharmacy, pharmaceutical sciences, life sciences, biomedical sciences, and related clinical disciplines.
The activity spans from 2nd March 2026 to 10th April 2026.
The course includes recorded lectures, live online workshops, discussion forums with invited experts, and short quizzes and case studies. Students will learn how generic drugs are developed and approved, how regulatory agencies operate across different regions, and how bioequivalence, quality standards, and ethical principles guide regulatory decisions.
The course sits alongside a complementary COIL course in Development and Regulation of Generic Drugs, offered by King’s. Students are encouraged to participate in both courses, but this is not mandatory. For more details on the COIL offered by King’s, please click here:

This course is particularly relevant for students interested in regulatory affairs, medicines development, public health, clinical research, and healthcare policy, as well as those seeking an international perspective on how medicines reach patients worldwide. Please register by Thursday 26th February to ensure participation.
